Newly appointed Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has not agreed to take the oath of office and secrecy.

Deuba has argued that President Bidhya Devi Bhandari did not mention that the prime minister was appointed through Article 76 (5) of the constitution.

Although the office of the President had scheduled to swear in the newly appointed prime minister at 6:00 pm, Deuba did not approach the forum where the President was set to administer the oath of office and secrecy.

It has been learnt that Deuba has insisted that the President should correct by mentioning the article of the constitution in the press statement issued by the President's Office. He is of the view that Article 76 (5) of the constitution should be mentioned.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the staff at the President's office were busy correcting the statement while others present at the ceremony were waiting.
