The police in Doti district have collected over Rs 1.28 in fines from individuals and vehicle owners who had broken the rules that were implemented during the prohibitory order that was imposed to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the District Police Office, the amount had been collected from 46 individuals, two two-wheelers and 24 four-wheelers for breaking rules from Baisakh (mid-April) till date. It also mentioned that the fines were levied as per Section 21 (2) of the Ordinance for COVID-19 Crisis Management, 2078.

Though the number of people being infected with COVID-19 has been declining in the district the administration has extended the prohibitory order till July 4 citing that the danger of the coronavirus had not totally subsided.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office has allowed the operation of public vehicles within the district only based on odd-even vehicle registration number. Banks and financial institutions have also been allowed to open from 10 am till 1 pm by adopting all necessary health safety precautions.
