A young policewoman has been killed when a truck hit her at Kohalpur in Banke district. Kabita Budhachhetri, a police constable working at the Area Police Office, Kohalpur, was killed when a truck (Na 3 Kha 6436) heading towards Nepalgunj from Shamshergunj overturned at Kohalpur Crossroads.
According to Himalaya Shah, Chief Inspector of Police, District Traffic Police Office, Banke, the accident took place at around 10 last night.
According to him, the speeding truck had initially collided with a divider on the south side of the Kohalpur intersection. Immediately after that, a policeman on duty on the side of the road on the west side came and overturned. The deceased has been identified as Kabita Budhathoki, 36, of Thakur Baba Municipality-7, Bardiya.
The truck also damaged two scooters (Ve 8 B 4068 and Ve 10 Pa 4624), said Chief Shah. The truck driver Lokraj KC, a resident of Babai Village Municipality, Ward No. 6, Dang, has been taken under control by the Area Police Office, Kohalpur.
