President Bhandari writes to Russia seeking vaccines

After the number of people being infected and dying of the coronavirus in the country during the second wave started rising exponentially, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has become more active in trying to avail help from governments of foreign countries.

The president has already written to her counterparts in India, China and the United States seeking help for the vaccines against the COVID-19. She has now written a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin seeking necessary help. She has requested President Putin to make available the Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine which is manufactured in Russia.

The Office of the President has informed that the letter written by President will be forwarded through the Foreign Ministry, which will deliver it first to the Nepali Embassy in Moscow. The embassy will then forward the letter to the Russian foreign ministry which will deliver the letter to Putin.
