President Poudel with Jajarkot earthquake victims

 President Ramchandra Poudel has asked the people's representatives to work by making short-term and long-term plans for the earthquake victims so that they can feel what a responsible government is like in a democracy.

President Paudel, who reached Jajarkot on Tuesday to understand the situation in the areas affected by the devastating earthquake that hit Jajarkot on Friday night, said that in discussion with people's representatives, the general public, and earthquake victims in Jajarkot, attention should be given to thinking about everything and working now.

He emphasized the need to identify a suitable place and build a permanent house in the long term so that there will be no problem in winter and rainy seasons until the tents and permanent houses are built for immediate residence.

He also urged people to be aware and alert as wrong actions such as cheating and tricking the earthquake victims can be done in the current difficult situation.

"I am with you to solve your problems, don't worry", said President Paudel's press advisor Kiran Pokharel.

Earlier, President Paudel visited Jajarkot Hospital and inquired about the condition of the injured. The injured asked President Paudel to provide treatment, food, and a living base including construction of houses.

President's press adviser Kiran Pokharel said he will take care of everything necessary for the earthquake victims, including food and shelter, and that he will talk to the government about that. Adviser Pokharel, quoting the words of the President, said - ``Short-term and long-term needs are identified and arrangements are made for them. No need to worry. I will talk to the government.

Chief District Officer of Jajarkot Suresh Sunar informed  about the damage caused by the earthquake. Similarly, the doctors of the district hospital were informed about the condition of the injured.

President Paudel reached Jajarkot from Surkhet to understand the situation of the citizens affected by the earthquake last Friday night.

President Paudel postponed his visit to Europe on Monday saying that the situation after the earthquake was not favorable. Along with President Paudel, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Energy Minister Shakti Basnet, State MP of Jajarkot, and Chief of Army Staff were present.
