Prime Minister Deuba leaves for New Delhi

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba left for New Delhi this afternoon for a three-day official visit to neighboring India. At the friendly invitation of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Deuba led a 50-member delegation on a regular flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation.

        The Prime Minister was bid farewell by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Ministers, Heads, and officials of constitutional bodies, Charge d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy here, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, and other representatives at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Earlier, a team of the Nepal Army saluted Prime Minister Deuba as per the tradition of saluting the head of government on an official foreign trip.

        The delegation led by the Prime Minister includes First Lady Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal, Minister for Health and Population Virodh Khatiwada, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mahendra Rai Yadav, Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi and Chief Personal Secretary to the Prime Minister Bhan Bahadur Deuba. Secretary Bharatraj Poudyal, Energy Secretary Devendra Karki, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Rabindranath Shrestha, Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, Law Secretary Uday Raj Sapkota, Finance Secretary Madhukumar Marasini, Commerce Secretary Ganesh Prasad Pandey, Health Secretary Dr. Roshan Pokharel and Agriculture Secretary Govinda Prasad Sharma.

 Similarly, Private Secretary to the Prime Minister Prakash Deuba, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board Nepal Sushil Bhat, Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of Nepal Oil Corporation Umesh Prasad Thani, Chairman of Private Sector Entrepreneurs Association. The delegation led by the Prime Minister will include Nepal's Ambassador to India Dr. Shankar Sharma, Deputy Chief of the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi Ram Prasad Subedi, and other high officials of the embassy from New Delhi.
