Gandaki Finance Minister Ramji Prasad Baral has urged the government to move ahead with plans and programs so that maximum budget is spent.
Speaking at an interaction on budget implementation and economic discipline organized by the state finance ministry in Lamjung today, he said that there would be some difficulties in the practice of implementing federalism and urged to move ahead to spend at least 80 percent of the budget this year. He said that the employees could not escape by showing problems. Minister Baral said that they are in the strategy of ending the process of freezing the amount allocated in various schemes. Minister Baral urged to select the plan for the needs and requirements of the citizens.
Member of the State Policy and Planning Commission Maya Timilsina said that the policy and system of spending the budget should be improved. Chief of the District Coordination Committee Lamjung Bhoj Raj Pandey said that the people of Lamjung are united on development issues.
Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Vaikuntha Prasad Aryal said that 72 percent of the current and 75 percent capital expenditure was incurred in Lamjung last year and 19 percent of the budget was spent in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. He suggested forwarding the file of the non-expenditure plan.
Chief of Physical Infrastructure Development Office Lamjung Suman Giri, Chief of Water Resources and Irrigation Division Office Lajmung Rajendra Bhandari, Chief of Agriculture Knowledge Center Lamjung Sudip Khatiwada, Health Office Lamjung's Amar Dawadi and others expressed their views on the plans and programs of the state government.
