The National News Agency (RSS) held a discussion on a new integrated news software, and organization and management survey on Sunday.
The RSS management discussed the news software and organizational management along with presentations on these topics.
On the occasion, Executive Chairman of RSS, Dharmendra Jha, viewed news production and editing would be further honed once the integrated news software comes into operation. It also helps maintain discipline among the employees.
He further informed that efforts were underway to get the new organization and management endorsed with the amendment of the existing Act and By-regulation. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has been forwarded these documents for endorsement, he added.
According to him, at a time when the media industry in Nepal was facing difficulty, RSS was comparatively in a comfortable situation with stable professional security.
Similarly, General Manager Siddha Raj Rai said the integrated news software would be enforced soon with the inputs received from the employees. The organization and management survey is also equally imperative for RSS, he stressed.
Making a presentation on the organization and management, Deputy General Manager Raju Shakya pointed out the need of adding 19 more quotas in the existing 165 quotas to the RSS so that it would be sufficient to run the news, finance, administration, and IT sections effectively.
Another Deputy General Manager Shyam Prasad Rimal argued the new organization and management plan would help ensure quality and effectiveness in RSS news. Similarly, it has an important role in the career development of the employees.
Likewise, Deputy General Manager Somnath Lamichhane said separate dashboards were created for reporting and editing sections- English, Nepali and international. It is for convenience of work procedure.
In the discussion, Chairperson of FNJ RSS Chapter, Pabitra Guragain, Chairman of Nepal National Employees' Organization RSS Chapter, Prem Prasad Upadhyay, and Chairman of RSS Employees' Association, Manoj Lamichhane, put forth their views that the amendment of RSS Act and By-Regulation should not breach employees' rights but boost morale.
Even a Teej programme was held and greetings exchanged during the event.
