The Phatakshila Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Project have provided drinking water to 300 households in Phatakshila in Melamchi Municipality-13.
Residents of Phatakshila, who have been facing drinking water problem for years, are happy after water came to their houses after the municipality provided water through boring with an investment of Rs. 20 million.
Mayor Dambar Aryal expressed happiness over the completion of the largest drinking water project in the municipality and urged the locals to conserve water tanks and taps.
Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality Amrit Kumar Dhital said that the money raised after installing the meter would make it easier to repair the project.
Water reached 195 houses in Bhimtar
Drinking water has been provided to 195 households of Bhimtar in Indravati Gaonpalika-12 who are in dire need of drinking water. Locals have benefited from the construction of an 82 cubic meter tank at a cost of Rs. 3.7 million.
Village Municipality Chairman Vansalal Tamang said that the locals have been able to drink clean and pure water due to the shortage of drinking water in the area.
