Telecom, internet services usually get disrupted in Dhaulagiri.

Telephone and internet services being provided by Nepal Telecom were disrupted in some districts of Dhaulagiri on Friday and Saturday. Such incidents have been occurring on a frequent basis in Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Mustang districts.

Telephone and internet services were disrupted at Patichaur in Modi Rural Municipality of Parbat district on Friday when the fibre network got cut during the road expansion work of Pushpalal Mid-Hill Highway, a national pride project.

Telecommunication services have been obstructed in Dhaulagiri due to lack of coordination between the Mid-Hill Highway office and other service providers in course of the expansion and blacktopping of Pokhara-Baglung road.

Locals have said that such problems have been taking place quite often and they are deprived of basic services. The fibre network has been broken down several times causing obstruction to services, locals added.

Nepal Telecom's fibre network has been placed along the Pushpalal Mid-Hill Highway. Nepal Telecom chief Keshab Sharma said problems have surfaced frequently as the Mid-Hill Highway office carries out road expansion works without informing and coordinating with Nepal Telecom.

The communications network is usually disrupted for 10-12 hours a week in Dhaulagiri.
