The Acting Chief Justice extends wishes on Law Day

Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki has said that the report submitted by the committee was formed to identify the possible anomalies in the judiciary and suggest control measures will be implemented.

Releasing a congratulatory message on the occasion of Law Day 2079 BS here today, he said that it was necessary for all to show more activism from their respective constituencies in the task of administering speedy, reliable and quality justice to increase the people's faith and trust in the judiciary.

He wished that Law Day would provide more encouragement and inspiration to all concerned in the commitment and observance of the rule of law in the country.

The message issued by the Acting Chief Justice states that the judiciary is moving forward with the commitment to upholding the rule of law including the recognition of independent judiciary, constitutional supremacy, protection of the rights of citizens, etc.

"The purpose is not to raise mistrust and doubt in the legal process from any viewpoint," the message added. "According to the study report obtained in connection with the implementation of such an automated management system with the same goal, the process for preparing the technical side, including the software required for the implementation of an automated PC management system and the release of the budget required for SOCA, has been advanced."

The message is that modifying Pace as a short-term strategy will ensure automatic transparency and hygiene in the broader process until automated Pace management is introduced. Work is mentioned as being completed.

According to the message, the judiciary is making every effort to execute the issue of constitutional assurance of justice, including compensation, and that positive initiatives from all stakeholders are required for the victim relief fund to operate effectively.

"I am sure that judicial reform is not a problem for the judiciary alone, but rather a collaborative achievement of all those involved in the system," the message stated. Only with the favourable backing of the relevant bodies and institutions can unexpected success be achieved.

Every year on May 9, Law Day is observed to honour the implementation of the Supreme Court Act of 2008. According to the message, the day has proven to be a watershed moment in the implementation of the rule of law by putting the values of an independent judiciary and separation of powers into practice.
