Three people lost their lives in a road accident in Koshi Rural Municipality-8 of Sunsari district today.
The deceased have been identified as Uday Sah (28) of Dakneshwori-5 of Saptari; Ram Prasad Sah (45) of Biratnagar-9 and Akhsya Kumar Gupta (40) of Biratnagar-7, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Saptari Narendra Kumar Karki.
The accident took place when a micro bus with vehicle registration number Ba 3 Kha 7224 heading west from the east hit a motorcycle with vehicle registration number Sa 6 Pa 4661 and a pickup van with vehicle registration number Ko 1 Cha 9368 coming from the opposite direction.
Uady was riding the motorcycle while Ram Prasad was the pillion rider. Similarly, Gupta was the driver of the pickup van.
All of them died while receiving treatment at District Hospital, Inaruwa, added DSP Karki.
Injured microbus driver Bibas Tamang (35) of Bidur Municipality in Nuwakot and helper Narayan Basyal (25), are undergoing treatment at Biratnagar-based Biratnagar Hospital. Police have impounded all three vehicles, according to Sunsari Police.
