The Tikapur Community Library in Kailali district has prized an outstanding reader with a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Upendra Chaudhary, a student from Tikapur Polytechnic Institute, was awarded as the best performing reader for the month of Mangsir with the cash prize and a letter of appreciation. The winner was selected on the basis of the readers’ visit to the library and total time spent there.
Secretary of Tikapur Sarokar Samuha Nabaraj Bhattarai said that the campaign was initiated with the move to promote reading culture in Tikapur area and added that the one who visited the highest times and spent longest duration in the library is prized. “We have attempted to develop a reading culture.”
Bhattarai also shared that every month a reader would be prized in coordination with the library and Samuha.
This month’s prize is sponsored by Nepal-Africa Literary Society.
