Two held with illegal wood in Makawanpur

Police in Makawanpur district arrested two youths in possession of illegal sal wood from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-11. The wood was recovered from a mini truck with vehicle registration number PRA 3-03-001 KHA 0132 from Tintapke Road by the police.

The arrested have been identified as Sukhram Rumba (23) and Dipesh Lama (24), both residents of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-11 and 13 in the district.

The vehicle was heading towards Padampokhari from Basmadi. Security personnel deployed from the Makawanpur-based District Police Office nabbed Sukhram with the woods which was kept hidden in the vehicle during a routine vehicle check. Dipesh, who was involved in the smuggling and following the mini truck on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number NA 52 PA 8809, was also arrested. The police have taken control of the wood, mini truck, and motorcycle.

They have been handed over to Rapti Manhari-based Division Forest Office for further action, informed District Police Office, Makawanpur.
