Two held with Rs 32 lakh in Rupandehi

Police on Tuesday afternoon held two persons with almost Rs 32 lakh for which they could not reveal the source from Siddharthnagara Municipality-1 in Rupandehi district.

The arrested have been identified as Binaya Kalwar (21), a local resident of the same municipality in Bypass, and Indian national Suraj Gaida (35), a local resident of Nautuna in Uttar Pradesh.

They were riding on a scooter with registration number LU 21 PA 2212. Security personnel deployed from the Belahiya-based Area Police Office nabbed them with the money during a routine vehicle check. They had been carrying the money in a bag.

The arrested duo and the seized cash and scooter will be handed over to Butwal-based Tax Office for necessary action, informed the police.
