Police in Rautahat district on Wednesday morning arrested two persons in possession of almost Rs 3 million in illegal cash from Rampurkhap in Paroha Municipality-9. They were smuggling the cash from India to Nepal.
The arrested have been identified as Bunty Kumar Kalwar (22) and Surja Kalwar (20), both residents of Motihari in India.
They were entering Nepal from India on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number BR 05 R 4521. Security personnel deployed from the Rampurkhap-based Police Office nabbed them in possession of the cash during a routine vehicle check.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
