Two people who had been buried in a landslide have been rescued alive in Simle of Phirdi in Shuklagandaki Municipality-8 of Tanahun district. Ward Chairperson Krishna Prasad Regmi informed that the two people who were rescued are from the same family.
He added that five houses in the area are in danger of the landslides. The rescued have been identified as 55-year-old Khagi Maya Bhujel and her 14-year-old grandson Bigyan Bhujel. They have been sent to Gandaki Medical College in Pokhara for treatment.
Meanwhile, nine goats and one buffalo died after being buried in the incident.
Regmi mentioned that Daharebasti in the same ward is in extreme danger. He said 40 are houses are in danger due to the floods in Bangey River and concerned families have been urged to move to safer locations. The families have already shifted important household goods and documents from their houses.
