Police arrested a youth on charge of theft from Kalyanpur Municipality-11 in Siraha district on Monday morning.
The accused has been identified as Kishan Shah (20), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.
Shah allegedly stole cash worth Rs six lakh, two gold earrings, one gold nose ring, and 1.5 kg of silver ornaments belonging to Mohabud Rain, a resident of Arangtol in Kalyanpur Municipality on Sunday night.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Kalyanpur-based Area Police Office nabbed Shah from Kalyanpur Bazar. The police also seized the stolen gold and silver ornaments from him.
Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the Kalyanpur Police Office.
