A youth has been arrested with 1.74 grams of heroin in his possession in Dhodhara Chadani Municipality-7 in Kanchanpur district on Friday night.
The arrested has been identified as Gaurav Singh (20), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.
Singh was riding on a motorcycle with vehicle registration number MA 2 PA 6913. Security personnel deployed from the Babathan-based Police Office nabbed him with the substance during a routine vehicle check.
Similarly, two men were arrested in possession of 80 kg of marijuana from Lalbandi Municipality in Sarlahi district.
The arrested have been identified as Aita Singh Syangtan (33) and Maan Bahadur Syangtan (54), both residents of Ishworpur Municipality-12 in the district.
Security personnel deployed from the Janakpur-based Province 2 Police Office nabbed them. Meanwhile, the other three fled after throwing the marijuana.
The police are looking for the three absconding accused, informed the police.
Meanwhile, Police in Makawanpur district arrested two persons in possession of 79 kg of marijuana from Raksirang Rural Municipality-5 on Friday night.
The arrested have been identified as Pratab Syangtang (20) and Lal Bahadur Syangtan (43), both residents of the same rural municipality in the district.
Security personnel deployed from the Chainpur-based Police Office nabbed them with the substances. Meanwhile, seven others fled after throwing the marijuana on seeing the security personnel.
The police are looking for the seven absconding accused, informed District Police Office, Makawanpur.
Further investigation into the cases is underway, said the police.
