Citizenship Bill urged to be introduced in Parliament

The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives has urged the government to introduce a bill on citizenship in the parliament.

In a meeting on Thursday, committee chairperson Krishna Bhakta Pokharel urged Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu to introduce a bill on citizenship in the parliament.

After discussing the bill related to citizenship, the State Management and Good Governance Committee of the Parliament has submitted it to the Parliament with suggestions. However, the bill has not been submitted in parliament.

When the Citizenship Bill was not passed, many children of Nepal-born citizens could not get citizenship.
