Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said the federal education act should be issued soon.
Attending the virtual interaction organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on quality enhancement of public education, assistance to the professional development of teachers, and coordination among three layers of government, CM Shahi also stressed the need for making technical education more effective and well managed.
He argued that the federal education act could help solve the problems we are facing in the education sector. CM Shahi also suggested to Minister Devendra Poudel how the local government should be given full authority to manage secondary education. Additional budget is required for the residential schools in the upper hilly region, according to him.
On the occasion, Education Minister Poudel responded that CM Shahi's recommendation was very positive and substantial. He also assured that efforts would be launched for the formulation of the federal education act.
