The provincial parliamentary party meeting of CPN UML in Karnali Province has directed three ministers from their party to immediately resign from the government.

Gulab Jung Shah, Chief Whip of the parliamentary party of CPN UML at the National Assembly of Karnali Province, informed that the party has asked Amar Bahadur Thapa, Kurma Raj Shahi and Nanda Singh Buda to immediately resign from their positions.

On April 16, the three aforementioned ministers along with lawmaker Prakash Jwala had crossed the floor and voted in favour of Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi. Shahi had then appointed them as ministers.

Though the three concerned lawmakers had been expelled from the party the Supreme Court later issued a verdict reinstating them as members of the National Assembly.
