CPN-UML secretariat meeting has started at the party central office in Chasal to discuss issues including Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal being barred by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal from going to Geneva.
UML Central Office Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari informed that the meeting will discuss the latest political developments as well as the presidential election.
CPN-UML has nominated Subas Chandra Nemwang, the vice president of the party, as its presidential candidate. His competition will be with Ramchandra Paudel of Nepali Congress, the common candidate of the eight-party alliance.
While nominating the presidential candidate, the UML leaders said that they will not leave the government until the presidential election.
UML Vice President Ashta Lakshmi Shakya said that today's meeting may discuss whether the party will remain in the government or not.
