CPN (US) is mainstream communist party: Chairman Nepal

Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that his party is a mainstream communist party.

Stating that the party has adopted the principle of multi-party democracy of the people, he said that the party is committed to the principles of justice, equality and inclusion in the society.

Stressing that justice should be equal for all, he said that no one should be treated unequally and provision was made in the constitution for inclusive representation at all levels of society. Nepal, who is also a former prime minister, expressed the view that the state should make arrangements for the disabled to make a living and take care of those who cannot do anything.

He said, "The party has spread from Mechi to Mahakali as a beacon of light. Society can be changed by being active in the service of the people." He urged all those who belong to the communist ideology to keep the character of humanity in the party with a holy spirit.

Birendra Raj Pokharel, in-charge of the party's disability wing, and Bal Krishna Gare, a member of the disciplinary commission, expressed their views on disability rights as well as empowering them. A 51-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Ram Prasad Dhungana representing all the states.
