CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that the office bearers of the UML could be expelled only through the general convention.

Leader Nepal said so at a programme organised by the CPN-UML Morang district committee at Biratnagar today. Expressing his displeasure to the ‘unilateral’ activities of the current party leadership such as the formation of committees, expansion of organizations and holding meetings, leader Nepal said that the party leadership could correct such activities.

Furthermore, the former Prime Minister blamed the current leadership for the low morale among the party cadres. Stating that he was visiting different districts to protect the communist movement, leader Nepal shared that 65 district committees were already reformed.

He shared that the national convention of 32 sister organizations would be organized soon to keep people's faith in the party alive.

Also speaking at the programme, leaders Jagannath Khatiwada, Jivan Ghimire, Dhanendra Basnet, Dr Deuman Sambahamphe and Mahesh Regmi, among others univocally spoke of the need to run the party as per the statute and principles.

A 325-member Morang district committee was formed under the chair of Chandrabir Rai and another 175-member Biratnagar Metropolitan Committee under the chair of Parul Chettri.
