CPN (UML) Secretary Padma Aryal has said that the government should not shy away from the election.

At a press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal in Baglung today, he said that it would be against democracy to try to ignore or stop the periodic elections.

He demanded the government to announce the date of local elections as soon as possible. "Elections should be held on time as per the constitution and law. The local level cannot be without officials. The constitution does not envisage any other structure to exercise the rights of the local level," said Aryal.

He said that delaying the implementation of the constitution by any party would be unfortunate for the country. He said, "The country must run according to the constitution, The constitution never runs according to the country."
