Nepali Congress’ Min Krishna Maharjan emerged victorious in the Province Assembly elections form Lalitpur-1 (2) by defeating UML’s candidate Chetnath Sanjel with the margin of 4,214 votes.
According to Returning Officer Bal Krishna Niraula, Maharjan got 13,378 votes while Sanjel managed 9,164 votes.
Of the total 37,614 votes, 25,731 votes were cast in the constituency and 677 votes were declared invalid.
In the last Province Assembly elections, Maharjan and Sanjel were the competitors in the same constituency where Sanjel had secured victory by obtaining 12,866 votes.
