The ruling Nepali Congress and the People's Socialist Party (PSP) have agreed to contest the upcoming local elections in a friendly manner in the Parsa district.
In a joint statement issued by Congress District President Janardan Singh Chhetri and JSP District President Ram Naresh Yadav, it is mentioned that the two parties have agreed to go for friendly competition in the district without electoral coordination. As there will be no coordination between these two parties in the upcoming election in the district, they will field their own candidates in all the 14 local levels of the district including the Birgunj metropolis.
While the central leaders of the five parties of the ruling coalition are working hard to contest the election, they have agreed to compete in a friendly manner without coordination between the two parties in the district.
Mayor Vijay Kumar Sarawgi of Birgunj, elected from the then Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, has already joined the CPN (UML). It is learned that UML has already fielded him as its mayoral candidate.
