Main opposition Nepali Congress party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairperson of CPN Maoist Centre, Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss contemporary political affairs.
At a meeting held at Deuba's residence in Budhanilkantha on Tuesday evening, the two former Prime Ministers discussed matters related to the conduction of parliament meeting, government and future political process.
The standing committee meeting of the Maoist Centre earlier on Tuesday had decided to consult with other political parties including the main opposition on the matter.
After hearing on a writ petition filed related to the name of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), the Supreme Court on Sunday decided to bring back the Nepal Communist Party integrating CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre to the stage before the merger took place.
Acting on the apex court decision, the Election Commission (EC) has decided that the CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre would remain as separate political parties from now onward.
