The Nepali Congress President and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba thanked all concerned on behalf of his party for the peaceful conduct of the by-election for the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday. The by-election was held in a free, fair, and peaceful atmosphere, he added.
Issuing a press release after the completion of voting, NC President Deuba said the by-election was held encouragingly in Constituency no 1 of Tanahu, constituency no 2 of Chitwan, and Constituency no 2 of Bara district. The lively participation of citizens in the by-election has shown their untiring trust in democracy, Deuba believed.
"I believe the election result will contribute to building a prosperous country, thereby fostering a democratic culture in society," NC President Deuba said in the statement, expressing gratitude to all voters for their active participation.
He also extended special thanks to the Election Commission for being successful in holding by-elections in all three constituencies in a free, fair, and peaceful atmosphere. Also thanked by NC President Deuba are civil servants, political parties, media persons, and national and international observers.
