After President Bidhya Devi Bhandari made a call to parliamentarians to lay claim to form a government as per Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal, leaders of the opposition parties have been holding discussions at a frantic pace.
Just this morning there was a meeting of the opposition parties at Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha.
At the moment the opposition leaders are having discussions at Singhadurbar. Deuba is presently holding talks with Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre) and senior leader of the Maoist Centre Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
The other leaders in the meeting are Madhav Kumar Nepal, senior leader of CPN-UML and Upendra Yadava, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal.
The meeting will most likely take a concrete decision regarding the formation of a new government.
