PM: As a sovereign nation, we must unite for prosperity & democracy

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government is working to make the country prosperous while protecting the achievements gained from the political movement. He said that positive support from everyone is needed in making this task successful.

Addressing a special function organized at Sainik Manch Tundikhel this morning on the occasion of the 72nd Democracy Day, Prime Minister Deuba said, "The present government, opposition parties, civil society, private and cooperative sector, donors are committed to move the country forward on the path of prosperity and good governance."

Prime Minister Deuba also stressed the need to conduct the local, state and federal elections in a fair, free and fearless environment.

Talking about the implementation of federal democratic republic and inclusive governance system in the country as it is moving forward with the success achieved from the political revolution of 1951, Prime Minister Deuba said that the national responsibility of building an egalitarian society should be fulfilled by institutionalizing it.

"We have the responsibility to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs and build Nepal in a way our forefathers wanted to see. It is our national responsibility to build a beautiful Nepal, a prosperous nation as envisioned by the martyrs, liberate the people from poverty and illiteracy as soon as possible, and build an egalitarian society by enjoying all kinds of political freedom, economic and social rights, ”he said.

He also reminded that the country has made great strides politically since the political revolution of 1951 and the people's movement of 1990 and 2006.
