The Supreme Court (SC) is scheduled to deliver its verdict on the dispute over the official name of the ruling Communist party, on March 4.

Earlier, a writ petition was filed by the Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal, Rishi Kattel, who claimed that the official name of various parties was similar to his party's name.

Kattel had lodged a complaint against Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal stating that their party reproduced his party’s name two years ago.

A division bench of SC Justices Bam Kumar Shrestha and Kumar Regmi today decided to deliver the final verdict on March 4 after the completion of the hearing.
