The main opposition CPN UML has continued to obstruct the House of Representatives session today as well. Soon after the commencement of the session, the UML lawmakers left their seats and headed towards the rostrum to picket it, chanting slogans in protest.

The agitation continued despite Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota's urge time and again to allow the operation of House proceedings. The House should discuss current pressing issues like impacts of climate change on people's lives, he said.

The UML has been protesting in the parliament with a demand of action against 14 lawmakers punished by it.

The HoR last met on October 11. Today's HoR meeting was originally scheduled for October 26. But it was rescheduled for today at the UML's request.
