Yadav faction of JSP approaches Election Commission

Upendra Yadav, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP), has gone to the Election Commission to claim validity and legality of his faction. Baburam Bhattarai, Ashok Rai, Rajendra Shrestha and Lalbabu Raut, among other senior leaders have accompanied Yadav to the Election Commission.

The Election Commission had refused to recognise the faction led by Yadav as per Section 51 of the Election Commission Act. Yadav has approached the commission to be recognised as per Sections 43-44 of the Election Commission Act.

The meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Yadav faction held on Thursday had decided to approach the Election Commission to claim validity of his faction.
