The Ambassador of Cuba to Nepal and India, Alejandro Simancas Marin, inspected the historical and world heritage sites in the Bhaktapur Municipality today. He was welcomed by Bhaktapur Municipality Chief Sunil Prajapati.
Meanwhile, Cuban Ambassador Marin expressed confidence that the relations between Cuba and Nepal would always be good and thanked Nepal for its solidarity and goodwill towards Cuba. Expressing happiness over his first visit to Nepal and being welcomed by the municipality, he expressed confidence that the relationship between Cuba and Nepal would be strengthened for building a prosperous society.
Speaking on the occasion, Prajapati said that the relations between Nepal and Cuba were good and that the NCP was united in the anti-imperialist movement in Cuba. Mayor Prajapati informed that the Bhaktapur Municipality has been running a college for education from infant feeding to higher education.
He informed that there is an arrangement to charge Rs. 1,500 for non-SAARC countries and Rs. 500 for SAARC and Chinese citizens to enter Bhaktapur city and the collected amount is being spent on reconstruction, protection and education and health of Bhaktapur.
Ambassador Marin visited the Durbar area, Sundhoka, Vatsala Temple and Toumdhi area of Bhaktapur while the Mayor Prajapati also inspected the KHP College, KHP Hospital, Breast Rehabilitation Center and KHP Engineering run by Bhaktapur Municipality.
Ambassador to Marin was briefed about the development of Bhaktapur by NEMKIPA Bagmati State Assembly Member Surendra Raj Gosain, Deputy Chief of Bhaktapur Municipality Rajni Joshi, Ward Chairmen Rabindra Jyakhwa and Ukesh Kawan, Chief Administrative Officer Krishna Giri, Chief of Tourism Information Center Gautam Prasad Lasiva and Administrative Officer Damodar Suwal.
