The government has announced it will conduct economic policy effectively. It was informed during the presentation of policies and programmes for the fiscal year, 2080/81 in the joint meeting of the federal parliaments on Friday.
President Ram Chandra Paudel presented the policies and programmes and stated that the role of diplomatic missions and their chiefs would be evaluated based on the mobilization of foreign investment in Nepal, and promotion of tourism and exports. The government 's foreign missions would be reviewed and strengthened.
He reiterated that Nepal's foreign policy would be conducted in a balanced manner based on the UN Charter, non-alignment policy and panchasheel principles. The bilateral relations would be maintained based on sovereign equality, and mutual respect and benefit, the President added.
Efforts would be made to send a peacekeeping mission under the UN ensuring a leading position.
Moreover, all sorts of problems relating to borders would be resolved via diplomatic channels by protecting the country's independence and sovereignty.
Nepal's role on multilateral and global forums including the UN would be made more effective, the President stressed.
