One arrested for selling single woman multiple times

Police have arrested Anisha Tamang, also called Phulmaya Tamang, 26, of Dupcheshwor Rural Municipality-5, Nuwakot on December 24 on charges of trafficking a woman to a dormitory in India on the pretext of taking her to Pokhara. She was arrested from Budhanilkantha Municipality-10, Kathmandu.

Tamang showed various temptations to the victim woman, telling her she needs to dance in a hotel in Pokhara for money and do housework in her own house for the rest of the time. She then took the victim to a hotel in Akashedhara, Kathmandu, where she fed poisoned spaghetti to her victim which made her faint. Tamang then took the victimized girl to several Indian cities like Mumbai, Illahabad, Kolkata, and Kuch Bihar. The victim had managed to return to Nepal with the help of the Nepalese Embassy and the World Service Extension Organization in Nepal under the coordination of the Indian Police.

The bureau has stated that further investigation is underway on Tamang who was arrested during the investigation of the case.
