The Government of Nepal has urged the concerned parties to find a solution to the Ukraine crisis through dialogue and diplomacy.
Stating that it is closely monitoring the developments in Ukraine, the government has urged all parties not to escalate tensions and to exercise maximum restraint. In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that as a member of the United Nations, Nepal adheres to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and must be fully respected by all member states.
Recognizing the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine as independent entities is contrary to the provisions of the UN Charter, "the statement said.
