The locals have contributed around Rs. 7.7 million to acquire the land for the administrative building of Galkot Municipality. Rs. 76.98 million collected on the special initiative of Ward No. 6 has been handed over to the municipality, said Ward Chairman and Member of Land Management Committee Nara Bahadur Khatri. The administrative building of the town is being constructed in Majuwa field in the same ward. Earlier, the municipality had purchased six ropanis of land from its own budget. One ropani 12 annas were given free of cost by the landlord.

Additionally, a collaboration campaign has been launched to voluntarily mobilize funding from local residents for the purchase of land. "The funds have been raised from volunteers and associates who have lived abroad since the Wadhavans," he said, "when we decided to build an administrative building in the Majuwa Field, we committed to raising Rs 100 million on behalf of the Ward, the funds are still being collected. ”

The locals are spontaneously involved in the campaign run by the ward after it becomes the centre of the city. The same family has contributed up to Rs 1 million, said Ward Chairman Khatri. He himself has provided four acres of land free of cost. Similarly, Nandlal Gare has given four annas, Khagraj Gare four annas, Indramani Gare four annas, Meghraj Regmi three annas, Ram Prasad Kandel two annas, Yama Bahadur Thapa two annas, Nandakali Budhathoki one annas and Rudra Bahadur Khatri one and a half annas.

After two years of efforts, land has been acquired for the construction of the administrative building of the municipality. The municipality, which is currently operating from a rented house, will run from its own building within the next two years. The municipality has stated that the contract process has started for the construction of a well-equipped administrative building.

City Deputy Chief Renuka Kaucha informed that a detailed project report (DPR) of Rs. 270 million has been prepared for the building. According to him, the municipality has spent Rs. 24.5 million on land purchases alone. If the landlord had not given something free of cost and had not received financial support from the locals, the municipality would have incurred huge expenses on the land.
