Landslides updates: Death toll reaches 31 in Panchthar

The body of Prem Alemgar of Fidim Municipality-6, Panchthar, who went missing after being swept away by the floods in Maluwa River while returning home on a motorcycle, was found on Monday. The floods in Maluwa had swept away him and his niece Sampada Alemgar.

The body of Sampada was found in Shivakhola three days ago while locals and police were searching for Prem. His body was found in Shivakhola on Monday, according to the District Police Office, Panchthar.

The number of deaths due to floods and landslides in Panchthar has reached 31. Three more are still missing in the floods. All of them are from Miklajung Rural Municipality of the district. A team of trained dogs arrived at Miklajung-4 Rabi on Monday and the search will start from today, said Police Inspector Dambar Bishwakarma of District Police Office, Panchthar.
