Man held with 15gm brown sugar in Banke

Police on Monday arrested a man in possession of 15 grams of brown sugar in Jamunaha, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Banke district.

The arrested has been identified as Maan Bahadur Rokka (34) of Mahadevsthan Rural Municipality-3 of Kavrepalanchok district.

A joint team of Nepalgunj-based Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Area Police Office, Jamunaha apprehended Rokka in possession of the substances while he was coming from India.

Likewise, police in Sarlahi on Monday evening arrested two men in possession of controlled drugs in Brahmapuri Rural Municipality-4 in Sarlahi district.

The arrested have been identified as Govinda Thapa (30) and Sanjay Thapa (26) of Hariban Municipality-5 in the district. They were carrying 6,000 Nitravet tablets, 54 ampoules of Nurfin, 64 ampoules of Diazelab, and 60 ampoules of Phenergan.

They were entering Nepal from India in a scooter (Ba 94 Pa 4235). Security personnel deployed from the Tribhuvanagar-based Police Office apprehended them with the drugs. They were hiding those drugs in scooters' different parts.

Meanwhile, Siraha police apprehended a youth in possession of controlled pharmaceutical drugs in Siraha Municipality-18 on Monday.

The arrested has been identified as Pappu Das (23) of Anarma Rural Municipality-3. He was possessing 100 Phenergan, Diazepam, and Nurfin tablets.

Das was riding on a motorcycle (Sa 4 PA 7608). A team deployed from the Siraha-based Ward Police Office nabbed Das with the drugs during a routine vehicle check.

Similarly, further investigation into the cases is underway, said police.
