Police arrested a person along with Rs 500,000 in Sarlahi district, on Wednesday.
The arrested has been identified as Rehana Khatun (30) of Malangawa Municipality-8 in the district.
A joint team of security personnel deployed from Janakpur-based Province 2 Police Office and Sarlahi District Police Office (DPO) arrested Khatun in possession of money which she failed to mention the source during a routine check conducted on Tuesday evening. Khatun had been carrying the bag containing 500 notes of 1,000 denomination.
Meanwhile, Khatun has been taken into police custody while the investigation into the case is underway, informed the DPO.
