Police in Kailali district on Wednesday arrested a man who was wanted in a murder case and had been absconding from Rajupur in Tikapur Municipality-2.
The accused has been identified as Dharma Tamatta (44), a local resident of the same municipality in the district. He had been on the run for the past 12 years.
The case relates to an incident on May 28, 2009. On the day, Tamatta along with Nabin Jung Shah and two others had gone to Tikapur Municipality (2)-based Khotena Bhurakhani Community Forest, for hunting. During the hunt, a loaded gun was misfired and Shah got killed in that incident.
Security personnel deployed from the Tikapur-based Area Police Office nabbed Tamatta while he was hiding in his residence.
Further investigation into the case is underway, informed District Police Office, Kailali.
