Police arrested a man on the charge of raping a 7-year-old child in Rong Rural Municipality-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
The arrested has been identified as Tilak Bahadur Khadka (30) of Rong Rural Municipality-1 in Ilam.
Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Aitabare-based Police Office arrested Khadka who allegedly raped the minor in the gardens of Dhungana Tea Estate by wooing the child.
Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
