Rabi Lamichhane has resigned from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. He met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda at Prime Minister's residence Baluwatar and submitted his resignation.
Lamichhane, who succeeded in establishing himself in Nepal politics in a very short time, formed the National Independent Party on June 22, 2022.
He was elected from Chitwan Region No. 2 in the House of Representatives election held on November 20. In the election, his party succeeded in becoming the fourth largest party in the country. He was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister on December 26. Today, the Supreme Court decided to revoke his position as a member of parliament in the case of citizenship dispute.
