Police on Thursday night arrested three persons in possession of 4.5 grams of heroin from Sainamaina Municipality-10 in Rupandehi district.
The names of the three arrested have not been disclosed. All of them are residents of Bemteni in the same municipality.
Saljhandi-based Area Police Office personnel nabbed them with the substance during a routine check.
Similarly, police apprehended a man in possession of 24.28 kilograms of marijuana from Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan-21 in Dhanusha district on Friday night.
The arrested has been identified as Santosh Mahaseth (35), a local resident of Kurtha in the same sub-metropolitan.
Mahaseth was hiding the marijuana in his house. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Dhanusha-based District Police Office nabbed him with the substances while searching his house.
Meanwhile, police on Friday night held a youth in possession of 1.90 grams of heroin from Birendranagar Municipality-11 in Surkhet district. The police also seized Rs 7,190 from his possession.
The arrested has been identified as Nabin Tiwari (28), a local resident of Gagretaal in the same municipality.
Acting on a tip-off, the Surkhet-based District Police Office personnel nabbed him with the substance.
Similarly, Police on Friday night recovered 400 100ml bottles of corex from Sangulawa border of Subarna Rural Municipality in Bara district.
The culprits who were entering Nepal from India threw the drugs and fled from the scene after seeing the security personnel deployed at Badki Fulbariya-based Police Office. The police are looking for them.
Meanwhile, police in Siraha district recovered 10 kg of marijuana from Patari Rural Municipality-4 on Friday night.
Sanjaya Kumar Mahato (35), a local resident of Dhangadhimai Municipality-12 was transporting the marijuana from Dhangadhimai to Dhanchawar. Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel deployed from the Dhangadhimai-based Area Police Office and Maheshpurpatar-based Police personnel recovered the marijuana from Dhanchawar.
The police are looking for the absconding Mahato.
Further investigation into the cases is being carried out, informed the police.
