Two held with deer skin in Jhapa

Police arrested two persons in possession of a deer skin from Kachankawal Rural Municipality-3 in Jhapa district on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrested have been identified as Suman Tudu (24) and Lukhiram Hasda (40), both local residents of the same municipality.

They had allegedly killed the deer in Avimukteshwor Community Forest. Acting on a tip-off, Pathariya-based Area Police personnel nabbed them with the deer skin.

They will be handed over to Jhapa-based Division Forest Office for necessary action under National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 2029.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched for others involved in the incident, informed District Police Office, Jhapa.
