Parliamentarians in today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) demanded identity card for the families of those forcefully disappeared ones at the earliest.
Voicing their concerns in the zero hour, they called for compensation and relief packages for the victims or their families by taking forward the file having names recommended by the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons Nepal.
Asha Kumari BK rued that the families of enforced disappeared ones were yet to receive identity card although 17 years have lapsed.
Indu Kumari Sharma stated that over 500,000 Nepalis were involved in illegal crypto currency transaction in Nepal and claimed that this had led to shortage of cash in the banks and financial institutions. She demanded that illegal transaction be brought under the ambit of taxation.
Kamala Rokka drew the attention of the government towards delay on the part of government for construction of the strategic road leading upto China's border point from Rukum (Purba).
Kalila Khatun shed light on the problems facing the public in Gandaki Province due to hike in taxation in every sector in Gandaki Province. She viewed that the federal government should coordinate with provincial government to curb increase in taxation.
Kumari Meche demanded fertilizers for farmers at the earliest. Krishna Gopal Shrestha said that many members of a single family were injured in leopard attack in Nagarjun Municipality-8 in Kathmandu recently and appealed with the government to repair the Buffer Zone's wall to prevent wild animals entering human settlements.
Krishna Kumar Dahal questioned why there had been delay in construction of Kantipath highway, an alternative highway connecting Kathmandu and Hetauda.
Krishna Bahadur Rai called for easing off the process of collecting the voter name list. Kedar Sigdel ranted that although four years were gone by, the culprits of Nirmala Panta rape and murder case in Kanchanpur district were not identified and brought to book yet. Ganga Chaudhary also demanded the same.
Khem Prasad Lohani demanded relief packages to the family of Sharmila Rana Magar who died in flood in Arun River.
Gajendra Bahadur Mahat demanded that the Surkhet-Jumla road be blacktopped on time. Ganesh Kumar Pahadi lamented that although the public hearing would be made 'paperless' and budget for the same was arranged for the current fiscal year, it was far from implementation.
He called for complete digitalization of the passport and national identity card among other important cards. Goma Devkota appealed with the government to facilitate for fertilizers for farmers and books for the students in remote parts of the country.
