Krishna Thapa, a lawmaker of Rastriya Janamorcha in Gandaki Province, has again been expelled from the party. He has been expelled from the party for staying neutral in the National Assembly against the party whip’s direction.

The letter mentioned that Thapa has been expelled from the Rastriya Janamorhca was registered at the secretariat of the National Assembly today. Speaker of the National Assembly, Netra Nath Adhikari, read out the letter of Thapa being expelled from Rastriya Janamorcha during the assembly’s meeting today.

Prior to this too Thapa had been expelled from the party on June 3. Rastriya Janamorcha had taken a decision to support the opposition party in the government in the provincial assembly but Thapa had issued a public statement mentioning that he would not support the government.

However, on June 4, Thapa had filed a writ petition against his ouster at the Supreme Court citing that he had not renounced his party membership and not gone against the party whip. The Supreme Court had issued a verdict in favour of Thapa on June 6. The apex court had directed that Thapa be reinstated to the National Assembly of Gandaki Province.

A single bench of Justice Kumar Chudal had issued an interim order stating that until and unless the writ filed by Thapa has been finalised he should be reinstated in the National Assembly.
